The first thing you need to do is make the target board. We like the idea of a point system so it can become more of a game, but you can design this however you like! Don’t be afraid to get creative with it. What you will need:
  • A3 piece of cardboard (colour of your choice).
  • Scissors
  • Paint or coloured markers to write the targets
  • Coloured paper to make the letters ‘FLIGHT SCHOOL’
  • Glue
Step 1: Cut different sized holes in the A3 cardboard. Each hole will be a target so you can make them as big or small as you like. If your kids are younger, larger holes will be easier for them.   Step 2: Using your markers, write a number next to each of the holes. These will be your point value, so make them numbers that are easy for the kids to add up.   Step 3: Using a pencil, trace ‘flight school’ (or whatever you want yours to say) in bubble letters onto the coloured cardboard. Then cute the letters out using your scissors.   Step 4: Glue the letters onto the cardboard to make your board pop!   Step 5: You can make the cardboard stand a variety of ways depending on what you have around the house. We suggest wedging two books on either side.   Once you have completed the target board, you now need all you need to make some planes.   What you will need:
  • A4 sized paper
  • Paper clips
  • Rubber band
Step 1: Crease letter-size paper the long way, then fold top corners into center seam.   Step 2: Lower point to about 1 inch above bottom edge.   Step 3: Repeat step 1, then lift small triangle under folds so it points up.   Step 4: Uncurl a paper clip, leaving a hook on one end. Glue or tape it to center seam so hook hangs.   Step 5: Fold both wings down so top edges line up with bottom. Loop a rubber band around end of paper clip to launch.   Step 6: Write your names on the planes so you can keep track of your planes.   Now you are ready to take to the sky and practice your target throwing!
