With the New Year in full swing, it’s time to start looking at how you can achieve your New Year fitness goals.

Whether it's to maintain your current fitness levels, lose weight or just learn a little bit more about how you can lead a healthier lifestyle, now is the time to get started!

Drop the intensity, but keep moving

We've heard time and time again that HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is the way to go in terms of increasing intensity and endurance. Whilst this is a fantastic form of exercise, this year it's really important to slow down and and switch things up to lower intensity exercises.

Have a smarter recovery for your mind and body

Smashing out intense workouts each and every day can take a toll on your body over time, which is why passive recovery for faster healing seems to be becoming more popular than ever! Things like Cryotherapy and inferred saunas aren't new on the health and fitness market, but they are certainly becoming more popular.

Find activewear that works for you

If you really want to get motivated about working out, then spend some time finding activewear that fits well and works for you.

These days there are so many different types of fitness wear, that it can get a little confusing. Essentially, think about what sort of exercise you do most - is it running, yoga, weight training etc, and then do a little research into what types of activewear might work for you. If you're weight training, then you'll want to get your hands on a good pair of weight training shoes, that will help with your balance and technique. If you're into yoga, then you'll want to get some tights that are snug and fit well so that you can do all the moves without distraction from what you're wearing.

Try a variety of different things

Whilst most of you are wanting to get started on your health and fitness New Year resolutions, it can often be difficult to know where to start - which means you could end up not getting to where you want to be.

To avoid this from happening, we suggest that you spend this month trying out as much as you can, before you decide on what you want to stick with. Many gyms and fitness institutions have some great New Year deals on, so use that as way in which you can try, before you buy. You never know, you might find that you enjoy a particular exercise that you never thought you would!
